Treasury!!

A big thanks to Laurie from Elle-a-Belle Designs for featuring my Amber Sun orchid hair flower in her Treasury entitled An Ode to Orange. I have purchased some pieces from her Urban Luxe jewelry collection and I am in LOVE with her designs. Here are a few of my favorite pieces in her shop.

My Personal Garden of Eden

~My first Dahlia of the season~

I'm a former L.A. girl that has fallen absolutely head over heels for the Bay Area. I love everything about it. The bay, beautiful green trees, mountains full of Redwoods, stunning beaches and mi casita! Sean and I live in a charming little English Tudor home that was built in the 1920's. We are beyond blessed to have such an incredible backyard that provides many delicious edibles.

~Nectarines~

~Oranges~

~Peaches~

~Apricots~

~Apples~

~Passion Vine & Bougainvillea~

~Kings of the Castle~

All of the fruit is delicious as well! The apples are the biggest I've ever seen in my life! They are so large that it only takes me two of them to make a pie. The apricots should be ready early July, with the nectarines following shortly thereafter. Oh my are they sweet! You can expect cobbler, pie and jam blogs from me this summer!

Tagged!

Mara, fellow cupcake diva and Westie mommy from Lick the Spatula tagged me today! What a fun way to discover something new. Tagging seems similar to a virtual chain letter that keeps going and going...just add your own flair. Love it!

The rules: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

Save the Date ~ SFEtsy Handcrafters Fair July 26th

I have been M.I.A. on the Hair Petals front as Mira Cakes has kept me so busy. Yesterday I found some BEAUTIFUL new flowers that I will be working with this evening. Think jewel tones ~ purple, ruby, amber, wine. I am looking forward to working something other than my Kitchenaid and pastry bag tonight.

Handcrafters FairSaturday, July 26th ~11:00am - 3:00pm ~
17301 E. Vineland Ave., Los Gatos

Handmade Items from the Heart

Please join the San Francisco Bay Area Etsy Team (SFEtsy) for a local handcrafter's fair taking place at a private home in Los Gatos. There will be a number of different talented artists selling a variety of items.

I will be selling Hair Petals and Mira Cakes and be giving away FREE BROWNIE BITES to anyone who stops by to say hello!

Sean captured this photo for me yesterday. Have a GREAT weekend!

Girly Cakes

I had a fun filled deco night that ended early this morning. Here are some photos of what I came up with :)

For my friend Tisha's sisters baby shower I did Red Velvet's and Double Strawberry cupcakes. I love how the daisy's came out. I colored the fondant light pink and dusted each flower with a gorgeous iridescent luster dust.

Think PINK! For Shauna's 30th Birthday.

These fun cupcakes are for Amanda's Sex and the City movie night!

Not so girly, but oh so good! Cookies and Cream cupcakes and Double Chocolate. Got milk?

Holy Cupcake!

I thought I'd never say this but I am cupcaked out! When you're out of school and not surrounded by children, you tend to forget that May and June bring graduations and celebrations. I have twelve cupcake orders in the next week and a half as well as my first cake order. I told myself that I'd never sell my cakes, especially my ice cream cakes, because I like to save them for special occasions, birthdays, etc. My boyfriend Sean has been pressuring me (in a good way) to market my cakes, so when I got a call from a very sweet repeat customer I could not say no.

The baking of Mira Cakes happens AFTER I get home from my aviation job which leaves no ~Miranda~ time :) I am smitten that my cupcake creations are loved....Thank you to all who support this little hobby of mine. Who knows, one day I may just have my own cupcakery here in Willow Glen. For now, jet fuel by day ~ cupcake diva by night.

I have a sweet little order with a fabulous story, but I'll have to wait until next week to share. It's a surprise from one coast to the other and it has to do with l-o-v-e! Hopefully I'll have a photo or two!

The photos shown are some of this weeks orders. Time to go as I have 80 cupcakes that need some Mira deco. Have a fabulous evening!
