Revamped Vintage

A couple of months ago, I introduced a new style of Hair Petals to my shop. Using vintage jewels, fabrics and findings, I thought the only way to describe them is Revamped Vintage. Perfect!!!

Sifting through sparkly jewels in antique stores is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love anything nostalgic and vintage. I'm providing new life to these once worn treasures for you and I to enjoy!

On the baking front, things are starting to pick up where the New Year left off. I was out of town for business at the beginning of January only to arrive home with a full calendar of cupcake orders for February. I love my clients, thank you!!!!

2008 was a insanely busy cupcake year for me. I could not seem to juggle my gym time and baking. This year I am trying to balance both and have come to the conclusion that I MUST invest in an elliptical trainer. I am a huge fan of multitasking and can see myself baking while getting my cardio on. To be continued!

Saturday Surprise....

A couple months ago, I noticed that there were Gulf Fritillary Caterpillars feeding on my Passion Vine. Apparently, they only feed on the Passion Vine and in time they will become a chrysalis. Lucky me! Three caterpillars became a chrysalis and I have been checking on them everyday to see their progression.

Today was an usually warm day for mid-January. This morning I went to check on my little friends and noticed that I could see the detailing of a wing through one of the chrysalis. I mentioned this to my BF and he assured me that they still had a long way to go as Spring is a couple months away.

I went about my day and returned to my backyard later in the afternoon only to find the very same chrysalis is now a BEAUTIFUL butterfly. I was stunned! This is January! It's still below 40 degrees at night. How on earth is this beautiful creation going to survive?!? Is this birth a sign of Global Warming? I am floored.

If you would like to see a larger photo of these beauties, just click on the image :)

Here is the beauty herself. Isn't she pretty?

New Creation

I just completed the fourth and final piece for a lovely wedding party. This was my first attempt creating a headband piece for a flower girl and I must say I LOVE how it turned out. It has a sweet vintage feel - love it!
